Somatic Works is Kaylee's most recent and ongoing project incorporating somatic fibers sculptures. The purpose of this project was to break away from the way Hennessey had traditionally been working, allowing the medium to decide for itself the outcome of the piece. In doing so, she has learned to understand her mediums in a deeper way and forfeit the level of control that had previously restricted her. Somatic Works is an abstraction of the human body and aims to allow the viewer to create their own emotional connections and interpretations of the works through touch and experience.
